Eligibility criteria
To be eligible for this program, you must submit your application with evidence of the following:
- Be an Australian citizen at the time of application.
- Be willing to undergo any police, character, health or other checks required.
- Be able to obtain and maintain a valid Australian Government security clearance when required. For more information, refer to the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA)
- Be ready to study for a Diploma qualification
- Have not completed a Diploma in Government qualification (or equivalent) within the most recent two years
Skills you need
To be suitable for an Australian Government Apprenticeship Program, you should have most or all of the following skills:
- The capacity to build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
- Have good communication and teamwork skills
- Be eager to learn new things
- Be enthusiastic about working in public service
- Have basic computer skills, like using Microsoft Office
