About us

We at the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR) support Australians to find jobs. We also help people find jobs by getting them job ready. This is done by building essential skills through apprenticeships and training. We promote fair relationships between employers and employees. 


We aspire to create a workforce that reflects the diversity of the community we serve. Our diverse and inclusive workplace encourages different points of view. Our workplaces promote a sense of belonging and the exchange of expertise between peers. 
 

What we offer

Our entry level programs offer a simple transition from education to employment. They provide you the opportunity to develop the skills you need for a fulfilling career in the Australian Public Service (APS).

By joining us, you will get on-the-job experience. You will be supported by a supervisor and given development opportunities throughout the program. Completing one of our programs will help you develop the skills and experience needed for career advancement.

We provide opportunities for learning and professional growth We also offer competitive pay and work conditions. Flexible work arrangements are available to support a healthy work life balance.
 

Locations

Our program positions are mostly based in Canberra. Some opportunities are available in other capital cities. We will offer reasonable relocation assistance to program participants who need to move for a position with us.
