National Indigenous Australians Agency

We lead and influence change across government to ensure Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have a say in the decisions that affect them.

About us

We at the National Indigenous Australians Agency work with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, communities, and organisations to deliver government policies, programs, and services that improve the lives of First Nations people.

We advocate for Indigenous perspectives across all levels of government and ensure that policies and programs address the unique needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

What we offer

Our program makes the transition from education to work easier, setting you up to succeed in leadership roles.

By joining us, you will rotate through three distinct work streams; Policy and Program, Corporate and Enabling, and Operations and Delivery. You will strengthen your skills in leadership, policy development, and community engagement.

Completing our program will equip you with the knowledge and networks needed to advance your career in the Australian Public Service (APS) and make a real impact on the lives of First Nations people.

We offer an inclusive and diverse workplace, including a strong focus on cross-cultural learning and professional development.

Locations

We have programs that are primarily based in Brisbane, Canberra, Darwin, and Perth. Relocation assistance is available to successful candidates who live outside these cities.
