Inside the Home Affairs Graduate Program

Hear from DHA graduates as they share what it is like to be part of the program.

About us

The Department of Home Affairs offers more than a job. This is your opportunity to help shape tomorrow, today. You will contribute to the safety, prosperity, and future of Australia. You will support critical national priorities from border protection and national security to migration, citizenship, and community safety.

What we offer

As part of our 10 month long graduate program, you will complete three rotations across diverse business areas. You will gain hands-on experience while discovering where your skills and interests align. Commencing the program as an APS4, you will have the opportunity to advance to an APS5 upon successful completion.

The program includes structured vocational learning, supported by experienced mentors. You will also access valuable networking opportunities, connecting with professionals, colleagues, and leaders across the department.

Locations

We offer a range of positions across all Australian capital cities.
