Eligibility criteria
To be eligible for the Indigenous Graduate Pathway, you must meet the following requirements:
- Be an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person.
- Have completed or be finishing an undergraduate degree or higher by 31 December 2024.
- Be an Australian citizen at the time of application.
- Be able to obtain and maintain a valid Australian Government security clearance when required.
- Be willing to undergo any police, character, health, or other checks required.
Skills you need
To be suitable for an Indigenous Graduate role, you should have most or all of the following skills:
- Strong communication skills
- Good problem-solving abilities
- A willingness to learn and adapt
- Teamwork and collaboration skills

Locations
Positions are available across all states and territories of Australia, including Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Geelong, Hobart, Melbourne, Newcastle, Perth, and Sydney. Limited positions are also available in Bendigo, Darwin, Orange, and Townsville.
Roles are full-time, with potential for flexible work arrangements depending on your placement agency.

Application Process
Initial application
Complete your application with your resume/CV and academic transcript. Your application will be assessed based on your eligibility, written communication, and supporting documents.
Assessment and interview
If you are successful in the initial application stage, you will be invited to complete a written assessment and participate in an individual interview. You will also take part in a yarning circle, which is similar to a group activity.
Preferences and matching
If you are found suitable throughout the assessment process, you will be asked to nominate your agency preferences, which will help match you with a suitable department or agency.
Receive an offer
Successful applicants will be matched with a suitable department or agency, who will make you an offer of employment. Once you accept, your placement agency will contact you to begin the onboarding process.
